Camp Whitley hosts a weekly, residential summer camp for youth ages 7-14. We host three weeks of girls camp and three weeks of boys camp. The ages are split at 7-9, 10-11, and 12-14. We also partner with Easterseals Passages to host a week for children with intellectual and physical disabilities.
At camp, we have long, eventful days. We have our traditional rotations of archery, riflery, boating, and art. When the weather permits, we spend plenty of time swimming in the lake! We play team sports and activities, enjoy one movie & pizza night, have skits, scavenger hunts, hikes, and more!
Camp Whitley is screen-free. Campers may bring a camera as long as it is not a cellphone/tablet. Parents are also without camper contact for the week. By Saturday pickup, you'll notice that your camper is more independent!
We have drop-off on Sunday afternoon, and pickup on Saturday morning. You can stay for our water derby and awards ceremony. Campers have been working hard and competing for team and individual awards all week!

Yes! During registration, you can apply for a scholarship. Applicants must currently receive federal assistance (SNAP, TANF, and/or Medicaid) to qualify. We do ask that you pay the non-refundable deposit per camper. Scholarship requests are due about a month before the first week of camp so that we can determine how to divide up the donated funds. Please email us with any questions!
We are thrilled to provide your camper with an enriching week-long experience to build self-confidence and independence. We do not allow campers to bring cell phones, tablets, or other tech that needs charging. Camp is to recharge your child! We do not allow parents to visit during the week or send messages to relay to campers. You are welcome to send "snail mail" to your camper, but we suggest sending it at the beginning of the week (or end of the week before they leave), to make sure they get it in time!
Yes! It is crucial that you share this information during registration. By listing your camper's needs, please know that your camper will NOT be singled out. Rather, it will help us prepare our staff so that your camper has a successful, fun time!
No. Campers and counselors have separate sleeping spaces.
Yes. However, campers are already provided with three meals a day and snacks. Extra food in the cabins attracts unwelcome critters. If you do pack snacks, please limit sugary foods, or foods that bunkmates may be sensitive to be around, such as peanut allergies.
The short answer is yes. You will need to coordinate this with our director first as our gate is closed to all visitors. No camper families will be allowed to visit during the camp week, but we can accommodate different drop off/pickup times and events that campers need to attend during their stay.
Drop off is 3-5 PM the Sunday of the camper session. Awards are at 10 AM on Saturday with departures following. Families are encouraged to come for the awards ceremony!
Yes. All staff, board members, and volunteers that interact with campers will complete a background check.
